Stage management

If the playwright is the mind of theatre and the director is the heart, then the stage manager is its hands and feet.  They say a good stage manager is worth his weight in gold. The stage manager does exactly that-  manages the stages of the production by coordinating all aspects of the process from assisting with casting to helping designers.

Literary arts

Except for purely devised theatre, and some aspects of experimental work in the avant-garde, most theatrical experiences start with a play ---the written word.  A play is is one of the three main genres of literature.

Voice

Voice! It is often said that anyone can learn to sing. While true, not everyone learns to sing properly.  Again coming from a root of Formative Stages, our goal is to allow every student to discover the essence of their own unique voice and then to be able to share it confidently, comfortably, and correctly with the world around them.

Dance

The art and practice of designing sequences and elements of movements for dance comes into play with choreography. Based on our Formative Stages pedagogy, our students will learn the fundamentals of dance by working with expertly trained teachers who understand the heart and soul of dance.

Design/tech

Except for purely devised theatre, and some aspects of experimental work in the avant-garde, most theatrical experiences start with a play ---the written word.  A play is is one of the three main genres of literature.

Acting

The great acting teacher Constantin

Stanislavski once said, "Love the art in yourself and not yourself in the art."

Our Formative Stages pedagogy begins here -  at a point of self-realization where

every artist understand the true value of collaboration in theatre arts
